Deleware River Bridge – Photo For August 27
I have been for some reason into bridges recently. There are some really great old roadway bridges across the Delaware River starting just above Trenton.
Potomac River At Williamsport, MD No. 3 – Photo For August 26
I have really been looking at bridges lately. This is the Rt. 11 bridge across the Potomac. There is some work being done on it and you can see some scaffolding in the photo.
Power Plant Study No. 5 – Photo For August 25
I had a very difficult time working the spider web into a decent composition. I am not really sure how well it works here, but had to include at least on photo of my efforts. The spider web as you can see in the photo was suspended between two strands of barbed wire adding to the composition and a deeper meaning if you wish to add one.
Power Plant Study No. 4 – Photo For August 24
The old power plant at Williamsport to me is a really interesting subject, and I revisited it on my way by this past Tuesday. This series was taken with an infrared digital camera and a wide angle zoom lens.
Gettysburg Cyclorama, Ultimate Vandalism – Photo For August 23
Now there is just a sidewalk going nowhere, once there was a unique structure here designed by one of the great architects of the 20th century. But it was legally vandalized into nothing.
Potomac River At Williamsport, MD, No. 2 – Photo For August 22
Am catching up, this is another photo I took on Tuesday. The fog is just clearing in this photo looking up the river just above the Rt. 11 Bridge.
Potomac River At Williamsport, MD, No. 1 – Photo For August 21
Williamsport on the Potomac River was also a port on the old Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. The aqueducts carrying the canal over rivers and streams are fantastic structures.
GG1 Study No. 3 – Photo For August 20
The two previous photos explain a little about the GG1. I thought it would be nice sort of in viewing order to show the entire engine – distorted as it is by a fisheye lens.

Leaving on the train to NYC from Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
The diesel electric engine that pulled the PPR commuter train out of Bay Head, NJ that I used infrequently to NYC would be replaced by a GG1 electric engine at South Amboy to make the run into Penn Station. The GG1 was in service for nearly 50 years, and was retired years after the PPR ceased to exist. Read the previous post for more info.
