Detail, Old Feed Mill, Maryland No. 1 – Photo For July 13
Detail can be very interesting and I like textures in black and white. This is a photo from my Maryland visit in early June near where I photographed the “Maryland Farm”. It is a grey day today, so may not get any good new photos to post and return to to these details tomorrow.

Country Road Study, 1970 – Photo For July 11
I think I have been down this road before…
When I scanned some old negatives some years ago, I came across this series of photos of a bridge and vaguely remembered where I had taken them and know it was in the spring of 1970. I am pretty sure that this bridge and the bridge in my current “Country Road Study” are one in the same, although some modifications have been made in the last 43 years. On my next trip I will verify it since I have picture of builders plaque in the old negatives.

Cut Glass – Photo For July 9
I spent yesterday afternoon with one of the premier cut glass collectors in the US and an associate who is one of the leading historians and experts on cut glass. I photographed about eighty pieces for a presentation they are preparing. Cut glass is an interesting subject, one that I have worked with before, and one that I will be working with again in the future.
Bridge Over The Monocacy No. 2 – Photo For July 8
I wanted to continue the bridge photos for from my Country Road Study. These trust bridges have so many individual parts bolted and riveted together with a redundancy of shapes that draws me to this subject. It is hard to tell from this angle, but the bridge deck is still wood.
