One of the great fun sights to watch in St. Augustus is the five step locks of the Caledonian Canal connecting with Loch Ness. Here I captured the upper basin above the locks and boats leaving the lower lock. Sure more will follow.

Loch Ness Today – Photo For September 11
Arrived to this view from just outside of our flat. This is infrared which as virtually always brings out that great contrast in the clouds.
Rosslyn Chapel and Castle – Photos For September 10
Rosslyn Chapel is one of the most unique structures I have ever seen. It as been going through extensive preservation work, which has been completed, and for the first time in well over a decade can be seen without scaffolding or what was for many years a large temporary roof. The photo is taken with a super wide angle lens and thus is distorted.
The Castle ruins and present house are also fascinating and are just a short walk from the Chapel. I particularly like the bridge leading into the ruin!
Both structures played a role in the movie, The Devinci Code, particularly the Chapel!
Riding The Marches – Photos For August 9
This is an old tradition that has just been revived in the last few years. Riding The Marches involves several hundred riders on gorgeous horses riding across country and into the center of Edinburgh. It is quite an entrance as they come up the Royal Mile behind a bagpipe band.
St. Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh – Photos For September 8
I spent some time yesterday exploring this beautiful Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Waverley Station, Edinburgh, Scotland – Photos For September 7
It was great to explore and photograph Waverley Station. It is nearly impossible to capture the entire complex from ground level. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can do some outside shots. This series is of the main terminal area showing tracks 14 – 18.

Street Performer, Edinburgh Scotland, No. 2 – Photo For September 6
This street performer is highly talented, however she did not seem to be enjoying her day as much as we enjoyed listening to her play.
St. Andrews Cathedral, No. 1 – Photo For September 5
The ruins of St. Andrews Cathedral are huge with the surrounding cemetery and walls. It is one of those sites that to photograph adequately, it would require a day or two and some careful thought. With that in mind I will post her a general shot and perhaps another or two later.
St. Andrews Is Not Just Golf No. 1 – Photo For August 4
Visited St. Andrews today, it was an easy train – bus trip from Edinburgh. If in St. Andrews, you must see the old course, but there is so much more…
This photo is of the castle ruins perched above the sea. They are fascinating and very photogenic. I used my ultra, wide angle lens to capture the castle, sea and swirling clouds.
