I am finally back online and have some catching up to do. As mentioned previously, I want to go back and spend some time working on a series of photographs I took at the East Broad Top RR. These were taken in the fall of 1973.

Tangier Island – Photo for Dec. 11
I took some photos of Tangier Island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay with one of my early digital cameras in 2002. I have taken this opportunity to revisit these files. I found that they are by today’s standards electronically noisy, so I tried converting this to black and white and using the noise to appear more like traditional film grain. I am late on posting daily photos at this time because of interruptions in my internet service.
Union Pacific Big Boy, Steamtown – Photo for Dec. 9
I am a day late for posting a photo for Dec. 9, but had a problem with our internet service. This photograph was taken a couple of years ago with one of my old Nikon film cameras. It was shot in color and converted to black and white. The sky is digital and was taken on Hilton Head Island, SC. Since this picture was taken the engine has been repainted.
Hunting Island Lighthouse – Photo(s) for Dec. 8
I had posted these on another site, but wanted them included here. They were taken in available light with my little four thirds Olympus.

Steve Tate, Poet – Photo for Nov. 30
I intend to post more of Steve Tate. I met him this morning on a shrimp boat in Brunswick, GA. We visited as he and the crew worked at getting ready to go shrimping. I think Steve is a very good poet, who has a gift for delivering his thoughtful verses and entertained me with several original works.
Edge of the World, Series 1 – Photo(s) for Nov. 29
These are part of a series of photos I took at our “Edge of the World” on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. I have posted these in various forms, particularly as part of a YouTube video, but thought they deserved a place here as a slide show.
